Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC) is gaining increasing attention among the concrete community due to its reduced construction time and labor costs. For this reason, many structural members are now reinforced with steel fibers as a partial or complete replacement of conventional reinforcement (reinforcing bars or welded mesh). Aside from cost issues, quality considerations are very important to a construction and FRC also meets these requirements because the fibers allow more dispersed cracks with a smaller opening which increases durability.
